Congregation Beth El has long and proudly devoted itself to social action concerns. While Jewish law and tradition demand it, we joyfully partner with our neighbors and collaborate relationships, advocate, educate and open our minds, hearts and hands to those around us. This mission is made possible by engaged and caring congregants, the support of our Board of Directors, our active Hebrew School and the guidance of our Rabbi.  Easing hunger and homelessness, in particular, are challenging pursuits we embrace as a congregation. We invite you to join our caring community as we strive to make life a little easier for those less fortunate.

Beth El’s  Social Action Outreach is dedicated to involving our congregants in the work of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world.

The Social Action Outreach Committee welcomes your help, as a committee member or a participant in any of our programs.

Beth El is participating in a program to feed homeless people through AHTN (Advocates for Homeless and The Needy), along with many other local places of worship. It’s easy!

Then cook one or several hot meals at your house. Deliver them to Felice at 129 Knights Bridge Drive at 4:15 pm. From there they go to St. Johns where they are picked up by AHTN at 5:00 pm and delivered directly to the folks living in cars and tent camps.

Congregation Beth El is pleased to be engaged with the Bucks Council Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement (BCICRR) as the community plans to settle a refugee family from Afghanistan in the new year. There are many moving parts to this process and there is a big need for additional volunteers to assist with short term transportation and child-care. Offers of  help do not need to be a regular weekly commitment.

Tikkun Olam Resource Library

Beth El Embraces Tikkun Olam:

From its beginnings Congregation Beth El has been proudly dedicated to upholding Torah and Constitutional laws which promote and protect human rights regardless of race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. These underpinnings of equality and justice help sustain the Jewish people and our entire nation at large. At the same time, we strive to respect and safeguard our planet’s precious natural resources from pollution and waste. Given these multiple challenges facing us today, our Social Action Committee will post reference materials here for our membership who wish to learn more about how we can make our world a better place.
